What is STRUCTURAL Chiropractic?

Our focus is unique. Structural Optimization focuses on specifically addressing Structural Shifts in the spine that commonly cause secondary conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, degeneration, sciatica, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, herniated discs, and ear infections as well as immune and digestive problems. Restoring and protecting your body’s normal structural alignment is of paramount importance in maintaining optimal health.

Chiropractic adjustments are a highly controlled procedure used to correct structural shifts that rarely cause discomfort. Dr. Braglia adapts the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following an adjustment.

How Can TRUE HEALTH Help Me?

Dr. Peter Braglia has served people of all ages and many health conditions. At True Health, our focus will be on a thorough structural correction of your spine. By correcting the structure of the spine, it will relieve pressure on the discs and nerves that are causing your specific secondary condition. We find that those who seek out our services are those looking for a long term solution to their problem, and that is what we are here to provide. This is done with a customized and comprehensive plan of care and providing the tools to help keep your structure intact.

Once the spine shifts and disrupts the spinal nerves and spinal cord, it can create many different secondary conditions or symptoms. The reason these are called secondary conditions is because they are a result of the primary structural shift, or the underlying cause. The location of the structural shift and where the nerves are being disrupted will give us an idea about your secondary conditions. Some of these include:

  • headaches
  • neck pain
  • ear infections
  • carpal tunnel
  • sciatica
  • shoulder pain
  • low back pain
  • fibromyalgia
  • sports injuries
  • high blood pressure
  • digestive problems
  • pregnancy pain
  • parasthesia
  • allergies
  • acid reflux
  • asthma
  • sinus problems
  • and more…

What Happens on My First Visit?

You are in for a rare treat when you schedule a complimentary consultation with True Health Chiropractic; you actually sit down for a consultation with Dr. Braglia. At True Health Chiropractic, a consultation is a conversation; not an examination and certainly not a high-pressure sales pitch common in the chiropractic profession.

When you visit our practice, two things will happen:

  1. We will get to know you
  2. You will get to know True Health Chiropractic, and how we may be able to help you achieve better health.

We will provide you with an overview of chiropractic, and then explain how our focus – Structural Correction – is quite different than traditional chiropractic. Most importantly, we’ll determine if this can be the solution you’ve been searching for to achieve optimal health.

Following your consultation with Dr. Braglia, you are more than welcome to proceed on that day, or on a future date with a complete Patient History, followed by a Structural Chiropractic examination which will include:

  • Spinal Analysis
  • Structural Assessment
  • Digital Neuromyographic Nerve Scan
  • Structural Radiographs

Once again, there is no charge for our consultation, and there will be no high-pressure sales gimmicks.

With this important information we can make a more accurate determination of the type of adjustments your spine needs as well as the ongoing frequency of your care. It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning. The spinal adjustment technique varies to best suit the needs of each patient.

What is the “Popping” Sound During an Adjustment?

The specific adjustment of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released. It is the same change in pressure as when you open a can of soda or a jar of pickles and hear a “popping” sound, it is simply a release of gas. Rest assured, no breaking of bones is taking place.

Is Chiropractic Costly?

No. Comparatively speaking, chiropractic is very affordable and can be anywhere between 40-60% less expensive than prescriptive medication and painful surgeries. Low-back pain is a significant public health problem. Up to 85 percent of Americans have back pain at some point in their lives. In addition to its negative effects on employee productivity, back pain accounts for about $50 billion annually in health care costs—making it one of the top 10 most costly conditions treated in the United States. With impending changes in the healthcare system, many families are turning to chiropractic for ongoing assurance in quality of their health and wellness. We offer multiple payment options and work with most insurances.

How Long Will it Take?

The hands-on nature of chiropractic care is essentially what requires patients to visit the chiropractor a number of times. To receive chiropractic care, a patient needs to be in the office. In contrast, a course of treatment from medical doctors often involves a pre-established plan that is conducted at home (i.e. taking a course of antibiotics once a day for a couple of weeks). With that said, the frequency of care depends totally on the patient. Each patient is unique and has different needs. We tailor care to each patient’s individual needs. We are not a “one-size-fits-all” practice. In our office we provide acute/pain relief, rehabilitative, and preventive/wellness care thus making a certain number of visits sometimes necessary. Depending on your healthcare needs and goals, we strive to achieve optimal health and wellness with all of our patients.

Many patients ask, “do I have to go forever?” The answer is no – once we have achieved your health goals, most patients transition to wellness care and their visits become less frequent. Most patients of chiropractic, however, will tell you that they continue care because they really enjoy the overall health and wellness that comes with keeping their body in balance. After all; healthy joints, muscle flexibility and a healthy nervous system will allow you to continue to exercise and be active for years to come!

Do You Accept My Insurance?

We work with many insurance companies, and depending on your type of coverage and network plans we are happy to verify what benefits coverage is available for you. Please call, email, or fax your insurance information to us (be sure to include both the front and back of your insurance card and copy of drivers license) and we will be happy to check on any benefits that you may have.

What Training do Chiropractors Have?

The typical applicant for chiropractic college has already acquired nearly four years of pre-medical undergraduate college education, including courses in biology, inorganic and organic chemistry, physics, psychology and related lab work. Once accepted into an accredited chiropractic college, the requirements become even more demanding — four to five academic years of professional study are the standard. Doctors of chiropractic are educated in orthopedics, neurology, physiology, human anatomy, clinical diagnosis including laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, exercise, nutrition rehabilitation and more. National and state board examinations are required for licensing.
